If you are in the Chicago area, Growing Lean offers
exercise classes and personal training programs to enhance obese children’s fitness. These classes include:
- Personal training. Growing Lean can set up a program that fits your child's age, goals and fitness level. These sessions provide direction, structure, and strategies that create healthy living habits. Working one-on-one with a trainer can be a safe environment for children to get fit and strong without feeling self-conscious. A trainer experienced in helping obese children exercise can help determine what your child is capable of and teach your child how to exercise safely, effectively. Most importantly, our trainers know how to make workouts fun! Our personal trainers can train children in fitness facilities in several locations in the Chicago area, or are available for sessions in your home.
- Circuit training. This class consists of a wide variety of exercises set up in stations to keep children in constant motion. The stations will increase their cardiovascular, strength, endurance, and flexibility while at the same time burn calories. These exercises will be chosen carefully and kept fresh so that the children stay engaged. Each participant will gain strength, protection from injuries, better health, higher self-esteem and confidence.
- Peak Performance Training for Sports. This class for boys and girls will help identify the demands of specific sports and incorporate a detailed and organized training plan for each participant. Using techniques specific for athletic training, children will improve conditioning, footwork, flexibility, coordination and agility. These added skills will promote confidence, better health and higher self-esteem.
